Girls Rock After School Program
Program providing a balance between life skills, self-expression, relationship building, conflict resolution, healthy decision making, goal setting and academic support. Elementary and Middle school girls will be able to enjoy interactive tutoring for all subjects. We believe academic success is essential to the development of young girls. Girl Power also understands that this age group experiences a lot of distractions and limitations that need acknowledgment and support of learning and practicing healthy coping skills to reach their full potential.
Program activities include: Dance,Teen Outreach Program, Art, Community Service Projects, Individual & Group Counseling, Yoga, Field Trips, Drama, Etiquette, Literacy, Math & Science Tutoring, Parent Support Group Meetings
and College & Heritage Tours
Sister Circle Mentoring Program
Program helps girls see the world through someone else's eyes and experiences in hopes of allowing her to envision a brighter future. Spending time with a positive female role model will offer exposure to new opportunities and the development of healthy and nourishing relationships for
each girl and her family. a commitment of at least four hours a month for 1 year. Young girls are matched with a woman in the community that has similar personal interests and personality traits. We believe in investing in the future of girls by helping them find women willing to provide the support, friendship and guidance necessary to succeed.
S.T.E.A.M. Summer Camp
Girl Power’s STEAM Summer Camp (GPSSC) is a 6-Week exciting hands-on learning opportunity for middle school girls in Overtown, with a special emphasis on activities in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Girls participate in activities that include life skills, problem solving, study, research, writing and communication skills incorporated with biology, chemistry, physics, design concepts, and field excursions.
Girls Intervention Program (GIP)
Serves girls 17 and under who have been arrested for non-violent offenses and are under the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Girls in GIP participate in an 12-week educational intervention program that provides an alternative to incarceration for female juvenile offenders.
Through a diverse assortment of individual and group activities such as art and yoga, girls are exposed to outlets for stress reduction, self-expression and empowerment. To complement these opportunities, Girl Power's GIP also provides practical skill training, and healthy decision making strategies through frequent workshops, community service requirements and special guest speakers.
Girls' Choir of Miami
Girls from all backgrounds to participate in a year round quality music education program created with the unique needs of girls in mind. As emerging vocalists, choir members are able to gain valuable performance experience, vocal and stage-presence, mentorship, coaching, and participate in leadership & personal development workshops, etiquette, music theory education, in addition to performances at public, private, community, and charitable events. Through music, each member is expected to develop her talent with discipline, grace, charm and confidence. Girls' Choir of Miami is a shining light in the Miami -Dade community. GCOM exposes girls to a variety of musical genres and offers the opportunity to perform with an array of different professional entertainers. This group of young artists is one of a kind!
