The Woman's Cancer Association was founded in 1959 through the University of Miami Medical School. Currently, the WCA has over 250 members in 3 chapters throughout Miami-Dade County. To date, the WCA has raised over twelve million dollars to help fund programs at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Miller School of Medicine. These contributions fund grants to researchers, early detection training, as well as major equipment and building purchases.
