Legal Assistance for Victims
VIDA provides assistance primarily to immigrant survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and other violent crimes throughout Miami-Dade County. VIDA provides co-located services at sites in central Miami-Dade, downtown Miami, and in South Dade. VIDA provides holistic legal representation, including safety planning, needs assessments and immigration assistance. VIDA works in collaboration with community partner agencies to enhance coordination of services, with coordinated referral systems to meet and address issues that affect immigrant survivors. VIDA also provides technical assistance to partner agencies and other service providers on the rights and legal remedies available to immigrant survivors.
Culturally Specific Services for Hispanic LGBTQ Victims
VIDA provides assistance to Hispanic LGBTQ victims throughout Miami Dade County. Our program provides holistic free legal immigration representation to Hispanic LGBTQ immigrant survivors. VIDA works in partnership with Survivor's Pathway Corp , a local community agency, to enhance coordination of services for Hispanic LGBTQ and to provide training and technical assistance related to issues affecting Hispanic LGBTQ survivors.
Human Trafficking Collaborative
VIDA provides comprehensive legal case management, safety planning, and referrals to community partners, crisis intervention, counseling, financial assistance and other services to immigrant survivors of human trafficking. In addition to legal immigration representation, VIDA accompanies trafficking survivors through the life of the criminal investigation and prosecution, providing criminal justice advocacy, and coordinating access to non-immigration legal assistance.
