Veteran Connection is a federally registered 501(c)(3) that assists veterans and their families. We focus on helping veterans who are unemployed, disabled, homeless,or at-risk for becoming homeless. Through a combination of paid staff, interns, and volunteers; we provide both economic support and social services. We are committed to researching veterans' needs providing effective solutions and to advocating to those who have served their country.
The VC’s Program was developed on the epidemic of veteran homelessness and the prevention of homeless veterans. It is an evidenced based program, meaning that it has been tested by public health professionals and has demonstrated its effectiveness. We can rely on and build program policies and practices based on the prevalence of veteran homelessness, patterns of health and social services utilization and model development and proven evaluation methods. Because social determinants (jobs, education, food, and shelter) are primary areas in which Miami-Dade County hopes to make an impact, you should also know that the Veteran Connection Homeless program is establishing a symbolic partnership with MilitaryConnection.com, where nonprofits receive free exposure to veterans seeking shelter, resume and job search assistance in the local area.
