The University has developed the Roadmap to Our New Century http://president.miami.edu/roadmap/index.html, which outlines the vision for our future.
The University of Miami’s mission is to educate and nurture students, to create knowledge, and to provide service to our community and beyond. Committed to excellence and proud of the diversity of our University family, we strive to develop future leaders of our nation and the world.
We are absolutely committed to freedom of inquiry: the freedom to think, to question, to criticize, and to dissent. We pursue the value of excellence in our research and educational missions with the single-mindedness that only great commitments deserve. We provide our students with the foundations for ethical citizenship and service to others, a respect for differences among people, and a commitment to high standards of thought and communication. We also prepare them for rewarding lifelong careers and imbue in them a continued and permanent desire for the study of knowledge and the search for truth.

Undergraduate Scholarship Support
By its centennial, the University is committed to meeting 100 percent of demonstrated financial need for admitted students through merit-based admissions and need-based financial aid.http://president.miami.edu/roadmap/initiatives/awe/index.html
Scholarships make the biggest impact on the people who matter the most at the University-our students. Your contribution to University of Miami scholarships will provide students with financial assistance and access to innovative educational, service, and research programs. The cost of attending a private, top-tier institution like UM often creates a financial strain that cannot be alleviated through the combination of public and private aid currently available. Scholarships provide many of our talented and ambitious students with the opportunity to pursue a top-notch education at the University of Miami. Gifts to our scholarship fund provide these students with the necessary resources to reach their goals, paving the way to make their dreams a reality.
Medical Scholarship Support
More than 80 percent of our current medical students receive some type of financial aid in the form of scholarships or loans. When financial barriers prevent young people from attending or completing their educations, it's a loss to us all. Gifts to this fund will support student access to renowned faculty, groundbreaking research, and state-of-the-art resources to advance the educational mission of the Miller School of Medicine - providing a learner-centered, humane and contemporary curriculum that prepares our graduates to pursue successful careers in patient care, biomedical research, health care administration, and community service in the 21st century.
