Grounded by our belief in Jesus Christ and Catholic teaching, Migration and Refugee Services (MRS) department fulfills the commitment of the U.S. Catholic Bishops to protect the life and dignity of the human person. We serve and advocate for refugees, asylees, migrants, unaccompanied children, and victims of human trafficking.
The utmost care and compassion is given to each and all of our Cuban Haitian program clients regardless of the difficulties and limitations that they might have endured in the past and continue to suffer.

Migration and Refugee Services is a well-recognized leader with more than 30 years of experience in helping Cubans and Haitians who resettle in the United States under unique and complex immigration policies. The total number of clients serviced by our program in 2014 was over 7,000. The MRS Reception, Processing, and Resettlement office in Miami, in partnership with the MRS Cuban/Haitian resettlement network in the rest of the U.S., helped to resettle 1,888 clients, of which 1,144 cases were Family Reunifications and 744 were Free Cases (no family in the United States). An additional 5,253 newly arrived clients were provided orientation and referral services through the Parolee Orientation Program. Among those resettled were several unaccompanied minors who were reunited with their Cuban and Haitian families in the U.S.
