The mission of the TRC is to provide relief and resolution from traumatic and accumulated stress. The main services of the agency include client-centered, individual trauma-specific treatment and psycho-educational groups. Our holistic services include Eastern practices such as breathwork, yoga and meditation, as well as medical services, acupuncture, massage and advocacy.
We also provide court evaluations and expert testimony for refugees and victims of violence. Community Resiliency programming includes training trainers in the community on simple, but powerful stress relief techniques. School-based programming includes individual treatment, tutoring, art and service projects. We provide training in our agency model to other agencies, healers and mental health professionals. In supportive housing and residential settings for youth, we provide trauma-informed psychosocial rehabilitation.
Our goal is to provide an in-depth and respectful service that empowers individuals, leaving them less likely to need any further community services.
Our staff has trained representatives from the Guatamalan police force on our victim advocacy procedures.
Client's that complete the program receive a certificate and inspirational journals.

TIR is a powerful metapsychology technique that allows the mind to complete the processing of a traumatic incident into normal memory. Also referred to as client-centered exposure technique, the method allows the mind to stop dealing with the event as if it were still unfinished. It is this technique that is primarily responsible for the success our clients have achieved, resolving their trauma in an average of 20 hours of services.
All clients receive an orientation to the Psychobiology of trauma, or what makes a traumatic memory different from ordinary memories. In addition, clients receive a thorough orientation to Traumatic Incident Reduction, how the process works, how it differs from other techniques or therapies they may have tried, and most of all, the way in which the client is in complete control of their own process.
TIR has been recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Center's National Registry of Evidenced-Based Practice and Programs.
TRC has a variety of holistic services that are offered to each client. These services include Acupuncture Therapy provided by a licensed Acupuncture Physician and Oriental Medicine Practitioner; Tibetan Sound Bowl Meditation where we hold periodic sound sessions at the center using crystal sound bowls; Breathwork where each week we hold guided sessions for Clients and Staff.
We also invite musicians to the center to offer Kirtan as well as Reiki Circles.
