The EDGE's Youth Ambassadors Committee (YAC)
The EDGE’s Youth Ambassadors Committee (YAC), a youth led youth program was established in 2013 and has since educated, empowered, and assisted local youth with social responsibility, leadership skills, college and/or career preparation. It presently holds a 100% college success rate. Core values of the program are team-building, public speaking, time management, communication skills, goal setting, social media responsibility, confidence, organization skills, flexibility, commitment, delegation, handling criticism and learning to use feedback for personal improvement, as well as social responsibility. While practiced in a fun and interactive format, the YAC Leadership Program will prepare, empower and inspire youth to be their best and approach their future with set goals and visions. The YAC Leadership Program will provide community service hours and expose youth to hands on service in their community.
The EDGE's Queen Bees
The EDGE's Queen Bees began in January 2017 with the goal of empowering women, knowing that stronger and happier women will better serve our children and communities. Queen Bees unite women who empower each other through sharing, story telling, laughter, inspiration, education, networking, compassion, empathy and community. It is a women's empowerment platform welcoming other women to join and form their own Queen Bees circles in their communities to help create a stronger alliance worldwide. All funds raised go directly to serve EDGE children.
The Purple Bag Project
The Purple Bag Project assembles purple backpacks filed with comforting items that provide cheerfulness and compassion to children experiencing a difficult situation. The purple bags are given to first responding agencies such as police departments, fire departments, school counselors, victims agencies, hospital emergency rooms, and many other agencies. These agencies then use the bags when responding or attending a child in need. Their goal is to provide a diversion to the child from the difficult circumstance they find themselves in while opening communications between the child and their first responding professional. These bags are put together by The EDGE's YAC with personalized love notes, letting the child know that they are loved. Just $25.00 will provide a purple bag to a child in need.
The Purple Room Project
The Purple Room Project transforms buildings and/or agencies used to serve and comfort children who are experiencing a difficult time into a serene and calming environment. These projects are possible through corporate and community organization collaborations and all the labor is done through volunteers.
