Back to School
Each year we organize a back to school event where we host students from Miami-Dade schools and provide them with new school uniforms, clothes, shoes, school supplies, haircuts, accessories and more. We enable them with the tools they need to suceed in school so they can start their new school year feeling confident.
We just hosted our 8th annual back to school event in August. Style Saves teamed up with the community and held the event at Mana Wynwood Convention Center, in the heart of Wynwood, Florida. The organization served over 5,000 Florida students with brand new uniforms, outfits and school supplies for the new school year, along with fun filled days of activities.
The goal is to alleviate the pressure of going back to school as a problem many financially low-income families face. By providing these necessary items, Style Saves helps turn the start of a new school year into a fun event instead of a stressful time.
Students from over 60 organizations including Miami-Dade Public Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Voices For Children, His House,The Lodge Miami, Irie Foundation, Mentor Network, Lotus House, The Guatemalan-Maya Center, and many more, attended the event. Students were invited to shop our pop-up shop and stay for an afternoon of fun including arts & crafts, dance classes, a photo booth, face painting, and several more.
Style Saves consistently makes an incredible impact on the community together and would not be possible with over 700 volunteers.
Style Saves annually to provides more than 500 homeless students with Prom tickets, attire, clothing, shoes and accessories for their special night.
Donations of lightly used cocktail dresses and bags, suits and tuxes are donated to the Style Saves offices, as well as a drop-off destinations around Miami Dade county. Additionally we purchase dresses, shoes, and menswear for this activation.
High school girls are also given vouchers for free hair, make-up, manicure, and pedicure services at the Beauty Schools of America and GEE Beauty.
Volunteer stylists, including Miami International University Of Art & Design staff & students and followers of the Style Saves social media accounts, helped the students put the finishing touches on their perfect prom looks.
Style Saves Swim
Style Saves Swim, is our annual fashion show fundraiser, took place during Miami Swim Week on Friday, July 13th. The fundraiser, which has grown to be one of the highlights of the week, expertly combines fashion and philanthropy into one unforgettable evening.
