Miami Music Festival from around the World
The Miami Music Festival from around the World celebrates the diversity of world music. It encourages and supports the musical heritage of countries from around the world. The annual Festival features academic, traditional and contemporary music from diverse cultures performed by acclaimed world-class artists. The Festival emphasizes chamber music written by the greatest composers of all times, and also showcases music events using world's traditional folk instruments.
Miami International Music Academy
The innovative programs and curriculum of the Miami International Music Academy (MIMA) set it apart. The Academy, Akademia, and Open Academy are three revolutionary music programs designed to breed young professional musicians and to provide free and low-cost, high quality music learning programs for people of all ages.
Classes at MIMA through our Open Academy are given in different outreach locations around the Greater Miami area with the goal of reaching out and involving individuals who wouldn't otherwise have access to quality music programs.
Teresa Carreno International Master Piano Competition
The I Teresa Carreno International Master Piano Competition took place in May of 2017 with more than 25 pianists from all over the world. The competition is the most visible expressions of South Florida Friends of Classical Music's commitment to the dissemination of the highest standards of musical achievements in Latin America and the world. The Competition promotes Carreno's music worldwide, as well as other Ibero-American composers, and launches and nurtures young artists' careers through the triennial Master Piano Competition, ensuing international concert performances, recordings and television documentaries of its medalists. By making the Competition available in its entirety on the internet, the Organization extends its outreach to listeners in every corner of the globe.
The Miami Chamber Players
The Miami Chamber Players is an ensemble of South Florida-based professional musicians who get together to play the world's best chamber music in intimate spaces. The core group of musicians includes award-winning rotating professional fellows who collaborate to create beautiful chamber music together. The roster varies in musicians and size for concerts, contracts, and touring.
SUMMER IN FLORENCE™
Our summer Study Abroad program is directed towards college students and professionals, interested adults and seniors of any professional background. We have an Open Admission policy and invite everybody to participate in our language, music, fine arts, and culture programs in Florence. SUMMER IN FLORENCE Study Abroad Program in Italy includes a combination of Italian language and Music courses, or Italian language and a choice of an Italian Culture Immersion course for all levels and ages above 18.
