Meet PomPom: This 5-7 year old 11 pound Shih Tzu arrived at the shelter as a stray with medical conditions. Little PomPom not only had mammary tumors, she had an eye infection affecting her vision and very painful urinary stones. Needless to say she was not doing well at the shelter, so SOS 4 Paws agreed to take her as soon as she was available. Multiple surgeries later, we are pleased to say this adorable little girl is a breast cancer survivor! And with a special diet will never have to worry about urinary stones again. Having been lovingly fostered in Miami for months while she recovered she was recently adopted! She is now Abigail and she is the only sibling for a senior couple in Coral Springs who lost their beloved Sheltie a year ago. Take a look at her before and after! This is what SOS 4 Paws does, we take the ones needing medical attention, place them in loving foster home until they are adopted into wonderful furever homes.
Introducing Chiqui: This 8-year old teacup terrier was rescued by SOS 4 Paws from Miami Dade Animal Shelter. She was diagnosed with protein-losing enteropathy, an intestinal disease. Because of her medical condition, Chiqui needs to be on a special diet and take daily medication. In spite of her medical issues, Chiqui has flourished in her foster home and enjoys life to the fullest. Take a look at her beautiful photographs. Her foster family spoils her and takes her on trips along with their other dogs and their cat. Chiqui is still waiting to find her special forever home that would understand her needs. SOS 4 Paws is here for Chiqui to make this happen!
Meet Cookie and Johnny: Two seniors being fostered for Animal Control by an SOS 4 Paws foster. Not only do SOS 4 Paws volunteers dedicate their time and compassion to our rescue, they also serve when called to do so by their local animal control. Such is the case with
Cookie, Johnny and Chicklet. All three were living in filth and squalor in a bath tub prior to being confiscated. A noisy shelter was no place for 3 little angels who were already all sick with upper respiratory infection and kennel cough. Our foster answered the plea to foster them until they could be adopted.Working with SOS 4 Paws we are featuring them on our Facebook page as well as networking them with our trusted rescue partners. Chicklet is safe - Cookie and Johnny are looking for their forever home. A great home for either or both would be a retired couple who love calm, housebroken, crate trained lap dogs. Cookie is around 13 yrs old and 12 pounds. Johnny is 8-10 years old and only 10 lbs.
Here come Baby Girl (Terrier Mix) and Dutchess (Chihuahua), two bonded senior sisters that were brought to the shelter by their owner. Baby Girl is 15 years old and Dutchess is 14 years old. These two sweet girls have known each other since puppies and SOS 4 Paws made sure that they continue to remain together to be each other's support. However, do not let their ages fool you. These ladies are in good health and enjoying life to the fullest. Baby Girl and Dutchess are currently being fostered in North Miami and are ready to find that home that would consider keeping them together.
