Thinking Ahead College Preparatory Program (TACPP)
Aim to assist the College Assistance Program in providing college bound juniors and seniors with the college application process through workshops, seminars and field trips. In addition to the college preparatory curriculum, TACPP prepares students by targeting the areas of professional and career development, civic involvement and financial literacy
Fiscally FIT Workshops: Making Dollars with $ents
Scholars Today, Leaders of Tomorrow, Inc. provides financial literacy workshops to participants of TACPP. The purposes of the workshops are to address financial literacy disparities and to increase personal financial management for the participants. The goals of the program are to touch on various financial management topics such as credit management, cash flow management and savings mechanisms. We have partnered with churches, nonprofit organizations and sororities as a strategic outreach to engage youth and their parents in a conversation about money management.
Operation Reach One
Driven by volunteer and corporate donations, we collaborate with both domestic and international organizations in an effort to transform and improve the lives of families and children in Haiti. Our students are actively involved in this service project, as well as other community projects that improve the living conditions of their community in the Miami Dade County (i.e. Christmas Toy Drive, Clean-Up Day, etc.).
Teens Training for a Better Future Workshops
Participants of TACPP gain insight into the workforce through workshops in professional and career development. This includes topics as: resume and cover letter writing, public speaking and presentations, mock interviews, job training and internship opportunities.
