Reading Queer Literary Festival
Reading Queer (RQ) organizes South Florida's first and only queer-centric festival of the literary arts. Since its inaugural iteration in the fall of 2014, the festival has tripled in size, bringing more queer writers and artists to South Florida than ever before.
This year we are thrilled to partner with the Miami Book Fair. This partnership advances RQ's mission to foster and promote queer literary culture in South Florida by bringing a diverse cross-section of locally and internationally recognized queer writers, poets and artists to the largest book fair in the United States.
Reading Queer Writing Academy
The Reading Queer Writing Academy aims to inspire and prepare members of the queer community to tap into this powerful potential inherent to the act and the art of writing. Consisting of a series oft distinct workshops spread out throughout the calendar year, the Academy will serve as a platform for writers of all walks of life to explore, pursue and perfect the craft in its myriad forms. As an expression of our conviction that writing is a right, not a privilege, all workshops are open to the general public regardless of an individual's ability to pay.
