Financial assistance is available to all sworn officers from any local, state or federal agency, working within the geographical boundaries of Miami-Dade County. Established guidelines and procedures are followed to ensure accountability and assistance is granted when all other reasonable resources have been exhausted.
Educational assistance is granted to the spouses and children of officers killed or disabled in the line of duty. This assistance provides funds for undergraduate studies at a college or university or education at a vocational/technical school. For those who protect us today, let us protect their children's tomorrow.
Holiday Gifts for Surviving Children
An annual program for the minor children of officers who died in the line of duty or while on active duty serving the citizens of Miami-Dade County. We remind these children that the community has not forgotten the sacrifice made by their parents. A holiday package, including gifts and a check from POAT, is delivered to each child. In 2015, 61 children representing 14 law enforcement agencies will be remembered.
