Promoting Cultural Diversity: A Glimpse inside Haiti and its People
We are a non-profit organization with the goal of educating and bringing forth awareness of Haitian History and Culture throughout various schools in Miami, Florida.
The founder, a teacher and an author of the Children's book entitled: A visit to My Homeland: Haiti, reinforces the importance of reading by presenting her book in many classrooms. Her discussions on Haitian History and Culture promote dialogue among young people of different ethnic groups and cultures, fostering understanding and good will in children of all ages. We believe that children feel valued and validated when they see their own experiences reflected on a book, and they develop curiosity and empathy when they read about experiences different from their own. This Program helps our kids grow as both readers and global citizens.
A Helping Hand
Internationally, Oasis For Haiti's Children serves children and families in one of the poorest communities of Haiti, the villages of Trianon/Grand Boucan in Mirebalais through establishing a Sport and Education Center on 5 acres of land, providing children in the region the opportunity to play Sports and compete all over the country. We promote health and nutrition by feeding the children a nutritious meal daily at no cost to their families. We create a positive environment where children can come to learn, play, socialize and just be "children" alleviating the struggles of every day life.
At the same time, through Service Traveling, Oasis For Haiti's Children provides a residential avenue for people from all over the world to come and explore this historic island, learn a new culture, cultivating new friendships while sharing their time and skills with the beautiful children of Haiti.
We are committed to bring new experiences and exposure to the lives of those in need.
