Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida collaborates with residents and other stakeholders to stabilize neighborhoods and develop sustainable housing.
Established in 1978, NHSSF is a 501(c)(3) chartered member of the NeighborWorks® network. We are amongst a nationwide network of 245 trained and certified community development organizations at work in more than 4,400 communities across America. NHSSF provides a full spectrum of homeownership services in English and Spanish to assist potential homebuyers in reaching their homeownership goals.
NHSSF thanks all our volunteers and sponsors for making the 10th Annual Community Paint & Beautification Day a success. It was a great day for homeowners, staff, sponsors, and volunteers- we made a positive impact in our community!
Home sweet home: A family that received counseling and assistance through our programs is happy and grateful for their new home.
HomeOwnership Promotion (Homebuyer Preparation)
NHSSF provides a comprehensive homebuyer education system designed to equip first-time buyers in South Florida with the education necessary to reach their goals of homeownership. The educational workshops are based on a proven national system of educating homebuyers on how to search for, finance, insure, maintain and manage a home.
NHSSF has worked to rehabilitate the South Florida housing market through the development of several affordable housing projects. These housing projects feature green initiatives that benefit the environment and save homeowners money. NHSSF also purchases and rehabilitates single-family foreclosure properties to minimize the negative effects these properties can have on local real estate values.
Through investor partnerships, NHSSF offers South Florida homebuyers lending options that are tailored to their specific needs. Our lending department works with the homebuyer to customize a loan with special consideration given to the needs of first-time and low-to-moderate-income homebuyers.
NHSSF addresses physical, economic and social issues affecting South Florida neighborhoods through strategic analysis of each community's strengths and weaknesses. Activities include community-based leadership classes and neighborhood improvement projects
