The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.
We are educating Floridians about Amendment 4 - Rights Restoration. We fundraise and provide uniform shirts to students at Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center on Miami Beach. We make blankets each month for cancer patients at Mt. Sinai Cancer Treatment Center. We educate people about the importance of the courts - we have a program coming up called "You Be The Judge - Why the Courts Matter" on October 23.

Leadership Development Program - the first four generations of NCJW Miami training the fifth generation
NCJW Miami's Leadership Development Program engages 30 to 50 young Jewish women. The program goals are to 1 - inspire; 2 - give them tools; 3 - implement the tools (opportunities to be a leader). The end goal is to integrate the young leaders into NCJW's leadership or other Jewish organizational leadership.
As volunteers and advocates, NCJW turns progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms. The Leadership Development Program aligns with our mission by empowering young Jewish women to find ways to meaningfully express their values.
We've Got You Covered
"We've Got You Covered" is NCJW Miami's community service project - creating and providing personal cozy fleece blankets for cancer patients undergoing infusion treatments.
In a partnership with Mt. Sinai Cancer Treatment Center, NCJW Miami creates blankets for their patients each month.
Creating Equality by providing a Uniform Shirt for every student at Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center
Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center sits in the heart of South Beach, one of the wealthiest zip codes in the United States. Despite their location, FF serves some of the poorest students and families in Miami-Dade. It is a Title One school, which means that at least 82% of their population meets the guidelines for poverty. 87% of their students qualify for free or reduced-priced lunch.
NCJW Miami has started a program to assist Fienberg Fisher with fundraising for and providing each student with their own uniform shirt, which allows the children to feel like they fit in. This lessens the immense stress from the sense of being disadvantaged and gives students the chance to feel equal.
