Little Revolt offers participatory theater and art programs to children, adults and seniors in south Florida communities, schools, and senior centers.
Our mission is to provide community learning opportunities in theater and the arts. We foster creativity and develop skills and strengths among children and adults, including under-served populations, through outreach, learning workshops, hands-on participation, and performance; this also includes focusing on work that is part of student curricula.
Programming includes Shakespeare's Birthday Celebration, family storytelling (Stories and Shakes), Community Shakespeare Workshops, In-School Classical Theater Residencies, Encore Programs for older adults (such as theater workshops at senior centers), and more.
We believe that participating in theater and art can make our lives better, communities brighter and schools stronger. We think everyone ought to have the opportunity to create theater. Our motto is: Theater for the people, by the people, and of the people.
Theater Builds Character. Little Revolt utilizes theater and art to engage youth, adults and seniors. Our youth enrichment programs build confidence, improve focus, develop creativity and more.
Shakespeare's Birthday Celebration is fun for the entire family. There are art workshops, dancing, Shakespeare perform,ance and more.
Our Encore program for older adults (55+) improves the quality of life for seniors through theater and art. Who says getting older is boring?

Youth Enrichment Programs
In-School Shakespeare Residencies -- Little Revolt teaching artists will devote from 1 to 3 months in the classroom, focusing on Shakespeare (or other classical theater) text and performance. The residency will culminate in a student performance. Programs can be customized for all age levels.
Shakespeare Camps – Activities focus on Shakespeare performance and practices, art, understanding text, acting, stage combat, dance, costuming and more. Camps culminate in a student performance (open to the public). Shakespeare's Kids Camp is in the winter. Shakespeare's Teen Camp is in the Summer.
Stories and Shakes
Outdoor programs for families and children of all ages. The events are free and open to the public and typically include storytellers, staged readings of stories and plays, puppet shows, Shakespeare performances and more.
Encore Programs for Older Adults
Encore Theater Workshops — Aging is not about decline; it's about creativity and vitality. Our theater workshops (at senior centers) culminate in a public performance. Workshops may involve participant storytelling, classical and other theater.
Encore Adventure Workshops — Immerses seniors in an 8-11 week program which includes a theatrical adventure with actors and a set—plus weekly arts workshops (on-site at local senior centers or similar locations).
Shakespeare's Birthday Celebration
Our annual celebration of William Shakespeare is fun for the entire family (held in April). There are performances, art workshops, dancing, birthday cake and more..
Community Shakespeare Workshops and Performance
Community Shakespeare Theater Workshops -- Have fun and learn to perform Shakespeare. Workshops culminate in an outdoor public performance! Anyone is welcome — no previous acting experience is required. (For Adults, Teens and Children at least 12 years of age).
