Our fellows excel academically and shine as young leaders, despite coming from under-served and under-resourced communities.
We invest in youth who are at at-risk of not maximizing their amazing potential. We boldly take stock in their success.
We believe travel awakens leaders. That's why we provide fellowships for diverse youth from under-served communities to experience worlds beyond them. 100% of our fellows are accepted into university. 90% of our fellows are awarded academic or merit based scholarships.
Lessons in leadership and the value of life-long learning from Africat Foundation in Namibia
“It made me realize that the limit, the boundary, the line that I set for myself does not exist. . . The impossible is now possible.” — Parvati Santos, 2015 Nyah Fellow
"Listening to Gabrielle Union speak of her service to communities, both locally and internationally, and successful acting platform motivated me and the other young women in the room to demonstrate resilience in the face of everyday adversities, including discrimination and societal pressures" — Kaela Makins, 2014 Nyah Fellow
“Language extends beyond spoken dialect. Although our words were not always shared, the smiles of the children resonated more with me than tongue ever could. From Ghana, I learned that happiness is a universal language.” — Chelsea Owanikin, 2016 Nyah Fellow
Nyah Project Fellowship
We are an innovative fellowship program designed to expose diverse youth from under-served communities to social entrepreneurship, human factor leadership, and international experiential learning.
Each year we select a talented cohort of fellows to participate in an intensive Leadership Workshop led by prominent members of the South Florida business, civic and legal community, followed by a one-week experiential leadership training in amazing destinations, including Ghana, Costa Rica, and more to come.
