Caring for the Vulnerable
Today, 1 in 8 Jewish people in Miami continues to depend on the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and our local partners for some form of financial assistance - including nutritious kosher food, emergency financial aid, crisis and employment counseling, educational and camp scholarships, and much more. At the same time, Federation's overseas partners are providing critical help and training to hundreds of thousands of at-risk and vulnerable people in Israel and communities worldwide.
Educating and Building Jewish Identity
Community support of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation sustains Jewish educational institutions, youth groups and Israel experiences, as well as student scholarships for Jewish day schools, congregational schools and overnight summer camps in Miami and overseas. Without such efforts, many children would not have the chance to interact with other Jews and learn about Jewish life and traditions.
Federation works with local and overseas partners to create and sustain initiatives that create a sense of community among Jewish people of all ages, backgrounds and interests. Community support of Federation funds education, engagement and advocacy efforts for Israel and issues of Jewish concern. Federation's Jewish Volunteer Center connects thousands of volunteers with programs that benefit from their time and talents, while other Federation programs provide spiritual care and companionship for the sick and frail, and create opportunities for isolated communities across the globe to revitalize Jewish life and bring groups of Jewish people together.
