Experience Aviation Build and Soar
The Build and Soar program began with a 2008 beta that made history when 60 inner-city students from Miami constructed a single engine aircraft from scratch. The aircraft was then flown by their mentor Captain Barrington Irving for the very first time. From that success the organization has conducted a number of other builds over the years including a 2012 Super Car, 2013 Hovercraft, 2014 Race car in Dallas, Texas, 2015 Race car in Houston, Texas, 2016 Race car in Atlanta and most recently another car build in Detroit, Michigan. Each year the Build and Soar program exposes students to the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) through hands-on projects.
