The Mission of the Douglas Gardens Community Mental Health Center is to provide a comprehensive range of behavioral health care services which are: easily accessible, affordable, responsive to patient need, designed to maximize patient functioning and independence and meet or exceed the community standards for care.
The Center provides a wide range of outpatient services to individuals living in the Miami Beach area. Services include psychiatric evaluation and medication management, outpatient and group mental health and substance abuse counseling, case management for individuals with a serious mental illness, domestic violence services, and employment services for individuals with mental illness.
Drop In Center
The Drop In Center is a "consumer run" center to provide opportunities for individuals with a serious mental illness to engage in social, recreational and therapeutic activities with in a group setting. The Center provides a hot lunch to individuals attending the Center and individuals participate in out trips. The goal of the Drop In Center is to provide individuals with a serious mental illness an opportunity to engage in constructive social activities in a safe environment.
Golden Palms is a 36 bed residential treatment program for older adults with both a serious mental illness and comorbid physical illness. The program provides a wide range of therapeutic and social activates and is one of the few programs designed to meet the needs of this special population.
