Building Stronger Networks and Partnerships
We collaborate with organizations to execute our own projects. For instance, we were able to distribute early childhood education supplies - for a hurricane recovery and resilience project funded by The Miami Foundation - in Anguilla, Dominica, St. Maarten and The USVI in partnership with:
- volunteers from The Children's Trust, Hands On Miami, FIU Caribbean Students Association and Florida Caribbean Students Association who assisted with packaging the supplies;
- Antilles Freight and Crowley Maritime Corporation who assisted with logistics and shipping;
- Rotary 7020 Hurricane Relief, Rotary clubs in the islands and UNICEF Dominica who distributed the packages to schools in recipient countries.
Building Institutional Capacity Through Resources
We assist other organizations in our community to do their work by providing resources. For instance, we donated medical supplies of a wheelchair, walker, bed wedge, urinals and bed pads to Borinquen Medical Centers of Miami-Dade.
Building From The Foundation
We support the education and development of children and youth, particularly at the early childhood level. Our focus is on building the key foundation skills for lifelong benefit. Key among these are resilience skills, e.g. social-emotional and climate change. For instance, we provided recommended learning tools to early childhood institutions across the islands of Anguilla, Dominica, St. Maarten and the USVI as a post-hurricane relief and recovery resilience project. We also provide support to other organizations who resilience work through sports for social change and meditation etc.
