Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami strives to connect with residents of South Florida and familiarize them with the ever-evolving depth and relevance of the ballet art form; enriching their lives through accessible performances of the highest quality which emphasize ballet’s vast stylistic range and its significance as a part of American arts and culture.
The organization will primarily foster and create professional opportunities for local perfroming artists, as well as artists from abroad. Local ballet students of an advanced pre-professional level will be offered educational and performance opportunities through apprenticeship opportunities which will allow them to collaborate and learn directly from experienced professionals. The resulting creations will be presented for the enjoyment and cultural advancement of the greater South Florida community.
Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami intends to interact with Miami’s youth by creating a variety of outreach programs including community youth classes in conjunction with particular performances, children & family educational presentations and demonstrations, and workshops for public school students.
Miami’s newest critically acclaimed contemporary ballet company brings a collection of ballets to turn up the summer heat – including three sizzling Miami premieres, and the reprise of two audience favorites. The featured ballet is renowned Venezuelan choreographer Vicente Nebrada’s "Fiebre," set to the hits of Cuban singing sensation La Lupe, with live musical accompaniment by Alain Garcia and his Latin Power Band.

“Home is the Pointe” - A Residency for Dimensions Dance Theater of Miami at South Miami Dade Cultural Arts
“Home is the Pointe” strives to shelter a group of outstanding ballet professionals who have come to call South Florida home, so that they may continue evolving as artists while contributing to our community. Specifically, we are seeking to provide our part-time, independently contracted ensemble of fourteen artists (including several Cuban refugees and displaced major-company dancers) sufficient “full-time” professional incentive to remain professionally rooted here in Miami.
DDTM Paying It Forward
In this program, we create and offer free and/or low cost interactive demonstration-style mini-performances for presentation at SMDCAC’s studios, neighboring dance studios, and public arts charter schools in the interest of marketing our performances and developing dance appreciation within the community.
- Co-organize and present educationally engaging activities such as dance-oriented artistic symposiums and discussions open to the public in conjunction with DDTM’s mainstage and lab theater programs, as well as with visiting companies’ when possible.
