Founded in 2013, Dibia DREAM provides a safe place after school with caring, responsible adults and engaging activities. Dibia DREAM was created with athletes in underserved communities in mind. Its programs use sports as an instrument to teach life skills, promote mentorship, active participation, and exposure to diverse opportunities through its 5 Pillar program that includes instruction on: Education (STEAM), Financial Literacy, Health & Wellness, Mentorship and Sports.

Former University of Miami basketball player Brandon Okpalobi noticed a lack of access to STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) and other supplemental educational programs for at-risk kids in urban communities and decided to do something about it. Hear how he combined his love for sports with business and science to create a “DREAM” academy helping kids be winners on and off the court.

The Dream Academy provides enrichment educational support for youth in K-8th grade. A robust After-School Program servicing 500 plus students, this free program provides a safe and constructive place for youth every weekday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the school year.
Students receive a wide range of resources such as weekly education workshops, STEM projects, field trips and speakers. Students are offered a wide range of opportunities including homework help, tutoring and mentorship, and activities such as painting, sports, and interaction with collegiate athletes, free haircuts and monthly dental screenings.
We bridge their desire for excellence, leadership and sports to educate youth on other essential core value systems. We translate the skills that are required to win in sports into skills that are required to win at life. This allows for the development of a blueprint for success, in language youth understand.
STEM Saturdays transforms community centers into “Incubators of Excellence” where we engage the community by exposing youth and their families to STEM-based activities. STEM Saturdays are monthly city-wide, family, and community-based academic events where students and parents can attend and learn together.
