CubaOne Foundation offers a new generation of Cuban Americans the opportunity to give back to Cuba, build relationships with the Cuban people, and explore their heritage through high-impact trips to the island.
Watch 10 young Cuban Americans visit the island for the first time
Participants from inaugural trip, June 2016
CubaOne offers the gift of a 7 day trip to Cuba for 10 young Cuban American adults between the ages of 22 and 35. The trip allows our participants to experience the island along with their peers, interact with the Cuban people, and explore their heritage.
In order for true reconciliation to take place, we believe our generation needs to be a part of it. Tu Cuba is an opportunity for thoughtful discussion about what has happened in the past and what the future holds. We found that the best way to accomplish this is by developing a transformative experience where participants experience Cuba with a group of their peers. Our participants come from all corners of the country, and are carefully selected, to be a diverse group across racial background, age, homebase, life experience, and expertise.
Trips include an orientation dinner in Miami with a prominent local Cuban American. As well as community programs with organizations like History Miami, O'Cinema, Books & Books and Miami Dade.
