Senior Digital Literacy Training Pilot
EveryoneOn, in collaboration with the Miami-Dade Housing Agency and T-Mobile, have partnered to improve the quality of life of 1,000+ seniors currently living in public housing in Miami-Dade County. Each resident received an Alcatel Pop 7 tablet with wireless keyboard along with two years of free Internet connectivity per device. EveryoneOn designed and delivered free tablet training to all seniors in the pilot in both English and Spanish from December 2016-June 2017. Every dollar of your GiveMiamiDay donation will help fund a new project site to get low-income seniors online!
Voluntary Income Tax Assistance Program Integrated Services Trainer/Provider
EveryoneOn and the Florida Prosperity Partnership are working together to offer low-cost internet, affordable computers, and access to free computer training as part of the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. EveryoneOn will work with VITA sites to educate staff on how to locate and assist low-income families to sign up for low-cost internet service, around $10/month. Volunteers will also be trained to advise the public on how to save their refund and budget for necessary device purchases such affordable computers and tablets, as well as where to find free computer training in their neighborhood using EveryoneOn's offer locator tool. Every dollar of your GiveMiamiDay donation will be used towards developing materials and training volunteers in Miami-Dade!
Countywide Low-Cost Internet Enrollment Events
In collaboration with local enrollment partners, EveryoneOn holds enrollment events with volunteers on an ongoing basis to help sign up low-moderate income families on the spot throughout Miami-Dade County. In the past, we have used GiveMiamiDay funds to provide truly needy families with internet and computers. Every dollar of your GiveMiamiDay donation helps us find+train volunteers, purchase food and refreshments, print event flyers, and purchase computers.
Digital Equity Champions:Getting EveryoneOn at Miami-Dade College
EveryoneOn launched its Digital Equity Champion initiative in 2016, which consists of working collaboratively with community anchor institutions such as Miami-Dade College Single Stop to incorporate the question, "Do you have internet access beyond a cell phone?" into the organization's existing intake and recertification processes/interviews. EveryoneOn and Miami-Dade Single Stop have partnered to ensure the college's 100,000+ students are aware of their eligibility status for $10/month high-speed Internet offers with major providers, access to affordable devices such as laptops and tablets priced below retail, and access to free computer training in their neighborhood. Deserving Miami-Dade College students have also been end-beneficiaries of GiveMiamiDay funds! Every dollar of your GiveMiamiDay donation will be used to develop materials and train front line employees to help identify the one million Miami-Dade residents who lack home internet simply because they cannot afford it.
Youth Financial Education + Internet Connectivity
Beginning in 2018, EveryoneOn will be working with a national financial curriculum partner to ensure Miami-Dade County's high school seniors work with a dedicated mentor to ensure they soundly navigate financial and academic hurdles to entering college then remain with students for one year to ensure they are on the right path to pay for college. Students will be taught how to plan and save for short-term and long-term goals and lessen the burden of debt after college. Every dollar of your GiveMiamiDay donation will help us fund program sites in schools, identify students, pay and train mentors, and provide students with a computer/tablet and internet connectivity for school.
