Street Performance Festival
An annual, one-day festival in which we place dozens of local performers next to the Inner Loop stops of the Metromover. The event is free for both attendees and participants and features prizes for both groups.
Ear To The Ground
This interactive series is designed to highlight local artists by staging performances in public spaces near the neighborhoods those artists call home. The intent is to strengthen bonds between the performance community and the community at large to both showcase Miami's unparalleled talent and introduce community members to artists in their own backyard (literally). Awesome, right?!
As part of the O, Miami Poetry Festival 2015, Buskerfest Miami launched a new project entitled O,ral Records. The project collected stories of the Miami-Dade transit system from both riders and operators. From the submissions, seven stories were selected for artistic interpretation by Buskerfest alumni artists Celestial, Somewhat Hungover, Front Yard Theater Collective, Meredith Barton and The Poetry Messengers. The new works were premiered at the Exile Books Zine Fair and hosted by the YoungArts Foundation.
CULTRA is a roving, outdoor open mic series that takes place in Downtown Miami's three primary parks: Museum Park, Parcel B and Bayfront Park. The project features local performers of all disciplines and is suitable for all ages. CULTRA is the recipient of a 2016 Public Space Challenge grant.
