BB&Y Annual Event - Art by the Sea (ArtSea) is an exciting, educational, inspirational and Fun Day for kids of all ages to immerse themselves in creating art projects out of items found during a beach cleanup. This young lady in the picture is working on an art pieces made from egg cartons.
One Water Workshop
The program does the following:
Teach students skills in narrative authorship, visual media, and film production.
Teach students about the social and environmental issues surrounding water conservation, as outlined by the film One Water.
Demonstrate the connection of local events to this worldwide issue by using specific examples from the student's community.
Engage students by capturing their interest in visual media and utilizing their knowledge of social media channels.
Inspire students to become environmental stewards and effective communicators on water conservation and other important issues.
Demonstrate an example of utilizing social media in non-leisure pursuits
Raise audience awareness about the issue of water conservation by providing content for both television and online distribution.
Raise awareness and involvement on the issue of water conservation within the local community.
Art by the Sea (ArtSea)
ArtSea is an annual one-day event aimed at young people ages 5-18 and their families. At ArtSea youth create unique art projects focusing on ocean conservation using material from the ocean, recyclable items and a variety of arts and media while being filmed for a BB&Y web show. Environmental learning experiences also available at ArtSea include surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, Eco-photography, music, drumming & dancing.
View into the Blue
View into the Blue is a unique online video series featuring youth who are passionate about our blue planet. During each short video clip, the featured Big Blue Ambassador explains a cool fact about a marine organism or ecosystem, the current threats and provide a simple, tangible solution for the audience. Primarily focus is children ages 5-12 yrs old who are featured in the VIB videos to speak to a younger audience.
