Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. We do this through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. We empower people with autism and their families with resources, online tools and information covering the life span. To find resources, join a fundraising walk or make a donation, go to www.AutismSpeaks.org.
Autism Speaks joined the Ad Council and BBDO New York, the long-time volunteer agency for Autism Speaks, to launch a new series of public service advertisements (PSAs) designed to help parents recognize the early signs of autism and take immediate action. For the first time in the campaign’s history, the new PSAs feature an imaginative world, created using 3D and stop-motion animation, inspired by stories of real children with autism and told from the perspective of a child with autism. The PSAs are an extension of the award-winning “Learn the Signs” campaign, created by BBDO, which has helped significantly increase the percentage of parents who recognize the early warning signs of autism.

The Autism Speaks iPads grant program which gives thousands of iPads to low-income families every year.
In 2010, Autism Speaks launched the Baker Summer Camp program, a grant program that selects camps from around the country to receive scholarship funding for financially disadvantaged individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Selected camps choose eligible campers to receive funding based on an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, financial need, and the individual's opportunity for growth and development through the camp experience.
Adults living with autism often have difficulty finding information about programs and supports that would allow them to live as independently as possible. Therefore, our Adult Services initiatives focus on resources that impact all facets of adult life including employment, housing, community life and post-secondary education.
Autism Speaks Resources Town Halls
Autism Speaks South Florida is looking to expand on community outreach by funding several Town Halls in 2017 focusing on Safety Resources and Adult Services. We are looking to partner with local communities, universities and service providers to bring crucial information about safety and adult services and resources to the community. These Town Halls focus on the critical resources that impact some of the most important, but often overlooked, facets of those touched with autism: adult life - including healthcare, financial planning, and legal concerns; as well as safety training for First Responders.
With the help of supporters across the internet, we could help fund these two vital Town Halls several times throughout the year in welcoming communities that are looking for these resources, such as Doral, Greater Miami, Miami Beach or South Dade.
