Save Our Missing Children Project
Save Our Missing Children
The purpose of this project was to develop a program for professional investigators to identify victims of human trafficking/child abductions, create pubic awareness, on-line investigation, operational assistance, on-site investigation and assist with the recovery of children/persons abducted and victims sold into human trafficking.
The program will seek out and provide investigative services for amber alerts, silver alerts, human trafficking, cold cases and other type cases. Information obtained in each case will be used to determine the root cause of the abductions. Angel Endanger Charitable Organization, Inc. will input the information into a database, analyze it, create strategies and educate the public on preventable measures to stop abductions from occurring and prevent human trafficking.
At times, Florida can seem to be the national epicenter of reported missing children and child abductions. The cases here gain national prominence and rarely have happy endings. After the media fanfare is over, the children's names stick out as sad reminders: Carlie Brucia. Jessica Lunsford. Trenton Duckett. Caylee Anthony. Haleigh Cummings. And now Somer Thompson. The state does hold a number of unfortunate distinctions when it comes to measuring the number of children reported missing and, what some consider a related statistic, the number of registered sex offenders as of July, the state had 51,560 registered sex offenders (Orlando Sentinel, 2009).
