Actors’ Playhouse Theatre Conservatory
Actors’ Playhouse’s conservatory for adults and children offers training in drama, musical theatre and film. With 30 years of history to draw upon, the program is among the most decorated in the region in terms of alumni. Led by Theatre for Young Audiences Director Earl Maulding, alumni featured on Broadway include Ana Villafañe (starred as Miami icon Gloria Estefan in the musical On Your Feet!), Sean Patrick Doyle (Angel/Ensemble in Kinky Boots) and Stephen Christopher Anthony (Ensemble/The Book of Mormon).
Many alumni return to Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre to perform on the company’s Mainstage such as Sarah Crane, Robbie Smith, Drew Arisco and Karl Skyler Urban. Each are now performing on Broadway, in national regional theatres and on tour. Dominique Scott (National Tour: Rock of Ages) starred in our critically acclaimed production of Million Dollar Quartet and won a Carbonell Award for his performance. Angelina Carballo understudied in Ruthless! The Musical before making her Broadway tour debut in Annie at the age of nine.
Alumna Aimee Carrero, who started out in our summer camp program, is the voice of Disney's Latina princess Elena of Avalor. Former student Josie Loren is best known for her starring role in the ABC Family series Make It or Break It.
